A week in my life running an Eco Cleaning Business (and all the chaos)
People think running an eco-friendly cleaning brand is all leafy vibes and aesthetic spray bottles lined up like they’re auditioning for Instagram.
It’s not.
It’s equal parts:
customer voice notes,
boxes everywhere,
“who ordered what again?”,
“What did Meta do now?”
and the occasional moment where I stare at a stain like it’s personally attacked me.
So here’s a real week in my life — the practical bits, the ridiculous bits, and the small wins that keep me going. And this is only how the week is PLANNED to go - there are always curve balls! 🙃
Monday: Admin Day (AKA The Day I Pretend I’m Organised)
Monday is when I try to become the kind of person who has:
neat spreadsheets,
perfectly tracked inventory,
and a calm nervous system.
Reality: it’s me juggling orders, supplier messages, delivery questions, and “just one quick thing” that turns into an hour.
Highlight: Getting a message from someone saying, “That smell we spoke about… it’s gone!”
That’s the kind of feedback that makes the chaos feel worth it.
Lowlight: Realising I need more packaging at the exact moment I thought I was ahead. (Spoiler: I was not ahead.)
Tuesday: Customer Questions (I’ve Started a Spreadsheet for This)
Tuesday is question day. Some are sensible. Some are iconic.
The best ones start with:
“There’s a weird smell coming from…”
Typical Tuesday includes:
helping someone figure out why their floors still feel weird after mopping,
explaining that “strong smell” is not a cleaning performance metric,
and giving the same advice 14 times in 14 different ways, depending on how the question was asked.
Highlight: When someone comes back a week later and says, “I love it… it really works.”
That’s when you know you’ve converted a scent-believer.
Lowlight: When you check in with a new client and they reply, “I haven’t tried it yet.”
Ma’am. Sir. The bottle cannot clean by vibes alone.🤔
Wednesday: Meeting + Delivery Day
Wednesday is boxes. Labels. Tape. Route maps. Paperwork.
There’s a special kind of confidence you get when you can pack an order in under two minutes.
There’s also a special kind of frustration when you can’t find what you need… even though you know it’s “right there.”
Highlight: Watching a stack of orders go from chaos to ready-to-go. It’s weirdly satisfying.
Lowlight: That moment you realise you forgot to pack an order in the car… and you’re already at the delivery point.
Nothing humbles you faster.
Thursday: Marketing Day
Facebook ads. Creative content. Budgets. Videos. New product ideas. Launches. Pricing.
And hoping the sun shines so we can get great pack shots — because nothing says “premium brand” like battling shadows and bad lighting like it’s an Olympic sport.
It all adds up to a hectic day that somehow feels like you’ve done nothing… yet your brain is non-functional by the end of it and bed becomes a highly sought-after destination.
Highlight: When Meta says “Active” in the campaigns tab.
I celebrate like I’ve won a small award. 💃
Lowlight: When WhatsApp gets blocked and you can’t figure out why.
Because nothing says “fun” like losing access to your business line with zero helpful explanation.
Friday: The “Real Life” Day (Friday Club)
Friday is meeting day — familiar faces, like-minded people, and the kind of conversations that remind you you’re not building this alone.
Creating a community and seeing it thrive is spectacular… and honestly, one of the most rewarding parts of this whole thing.
Highlight: The thrill of seeing people talking referrals, swapping numbers, and actually doing business.
Lowlight: The meeting ends around 11am… and then you realise the rest of the day is still yours to handle.
The social battery is full, but the to-do list is still undefeated.
Saturday: Gardening Day
I love my garden — it’s my happy place.
Planting things and watching them grow gives me a real sense of accomplishment. And weirdly… it links perfectly back to business: launching a campaign, giving it attention, watching it gain traction, and then suddenly it’s got legs and it takes off.
Everything we do is planting seeds — ideas, ads, conversations, habits.
Give the right seeds enough time and consistency… and they come to life.
Sunday: Reset + Planning (And a Bit of “What Am I Even Doing?”)
Sunday is the reset. The rest day.
I do a quick look at:
what sold,
what questions came up repeatedly,
what I need to make clearer on the website,
what I can simplify next week…
…and then the Netflix binge begins. Balance, right?
Because the goal isn’t to do more.
It’s to make the business easier to run, easier to buy from, and easier for customers to get results.
What This Week Reminded Me
Most people aren’t looking for perfection.
They want:
something that works,
a simple routine,
and a home that feels good without the hard work.
If you’ve got a question, message me. I’ll point you to the simplest fix and the right product for your situation.
No fluff. Just solutions.
